Workshop Expert Alex Sparrow

A joint workshop for Homeowners by Hope Valley Climate Action Energy group and Marches Energy Agency’s Home Energy Advice Team pilot project.

This workshop will cover the natural breathable insulation and building materials for houses with an older construction, such as most of the houses in the Hope Valley. It will include their pros and cons, and practical details of how to install and fix them. Samples of the different materials will be available including a place where you can buy them.

This workshop will be useful both for people wanting to learn more before starting their insulation work and for DIYers planning to do the insulation work themselves.

Alex Sparrow, is recognized globally as one of the leading experts in the use of hempcrete ( a remarkable building material using hemp and lime to create plater, mortar and an alternative to concrete) and other bio-based construction products. Alex sits on the board of the Alliance for Sustainable Building Products in the UK and is Founder and CEO at UK Hempcrete.
